Complex Tumour Removal

At NVRS we are able to offer surgical treatment of tumours such as mast cell tumours, anal sac carcinomas, oral masses and abdominal masses.

CT scan work up prior to removal can assess for any metastatic spread and can facilitate surgery. Contrast CT is particularly useful for imaging soft tissue tumours when surgical resection is being considered and when information on the local lymph nodes is required. Tumours are often graded, with their grade determining the decision-making process for a treatment plan. Biopsies can be taken to help define the tumour and in cases where surgical excision is not a complete solution; patients can be referred to our oncology team for medical management, including chemotherapy, or palliative care.
